Interior painting in Mississauga usually starts with the biggest wall in the house. In the two-storey homes through Erin Mills, Meadowvale and Churchill Meadows, the foyer and stairwell run two full floors, and that is the part most people would rather not do themselves.

The rest is straightforward work done carefully: bedrooms, hallways, ceilings, doors and baseboards. I move and cover what is in the room, fill and sand before I open a can of colour, and give you the price in writing first. Sunday work is by appointment.

Walk the rooms

I look at every surface you want painted, check the trim, ceilings and past repairs, note what needs filling or priming, and talk through sheen and colour with you. Photos sent ahead of the visit speed the quote up.

Cover and prepare

Furniture moves to the centre and gets sheeted, floors are protected, plates and hardware come off, then holes are filled, joints are caulked and every patch is primed so nothing flashes through the finish.

Cut in and roll

Ceilings first, then walls, then trim and doors, two coats on each, keeping a wet edge and rolling back into the cut line so the finish reads the same right across the wall.

Reassemble and inspect

Hardware and plates go back on, the room is put together, rubbish leaves with me, and I walk the space with you in daylight so anything that is not right gets touched up before I go.

What Affects the Price in Mississauga

Painting is priced by the surface, not by the name of the room. A bedroom with smooth walls, sound trim and a light colour going over a light colour moves quickly. The same room takes far longer with cracked plaster, a dark colour underneath, tall ceilings, heavy furniture to shift, or oil-based trim that has to be scuffed and primed before it will hold paint. Supplying the paint myself adds material cost with receipts, and you are welcome to supply your own. Either way the price is agreed before I start.

Can you reach the wall above my staircase without scaffolding?

In most Mississauga two-storeys, yes. A ladder with adjustable legs sits level on the stair treads and gets me to the top of that wall safely, and for the very tallest foyers I set up a small platform instead. What I do not do is lean a ladder on a railing or a banister. If a room is beyond safe reach, I will say so.
