Furniture and IKEA Assembly for Mississauga Homes

Furniture assembly in Mississauga is usually a whole-house list rather than one item. In the newer subdivisions off Erin Mills and through Churchill Meadows, people close on a bigger place and end up with a hallway of flat-pack boxes covering four rooms.

That suits the way I work. I set a day aside, build room by room, anchor everything tall, and either stack the flattened cardboard in the garage or take it away. The quote is free and the price is agreed before a single box is opened.

Newer Mississauga homes give me room most jobs do not have: a deep double garage to lay panels out in, nine-foot main floors and wide upstairs halls, so a long wall unit can be built flat and walked in whole rather than assembled in a corner. The catch is the walls. Builder framing runs at sixteen inches, but the broad bedroom wall a wardrobe lands on may have only one stud within reach, so I find it, mark it and anchor to that instead of trusting drywall.

How It Runs

From Message to Finished Job

1
Tell me the pieces

Send the product names or a link for each item, plus how many of each. IKEA article numbers are ideal. That tells me the build time and whether a piece needs wall fixing or extra care getting it upright.

2
Boxes in the room

Have the flat packs in the room where the furniture is going, with a clear floor space beside them. Carrying a built wardrobe through a doorway rarely works, so the build happens where the piece will live.

3
Built, checked, anchored

Parts are laid out and counted first, then the carcass goes together and gets checked for square before the back panel is fixed. Doors and drawers are adjusted, feet levelled, and anything tall is strapped to the wall.

4
Packaging taken away

Boxes get flattened, foam and plastic bagged, and the lot leaves with me unless you want to keep it. Spare fittings are bagged and left with the instructions in case you move the piece later.

What Affects the Price in Mississauga

Build time is what you are paying for, and that varies more than people expect. A bedside table is quick. A tall wardrobe run with sliding doors is a serious afternoon. The number of pieces, the size of each one, whether the boxes are already in the right room, and how much wall anchoring is needed all count. Disassembly for a move usually takes less time than the original build. Whatever the list, the price or hourly rate is settled before I open a box.

Nothing starts before the price is agreed. Send a photo or two with your request and I can usually quote without a site visit.

Asked in Mississauga

I have boxes for four rooms sitting in the garage. Can it all be done in one visit?

Often yes. Send me the product names and I will work out how long that list honestly takes, then tell you whether it is one long day or two. Building several pieces on one visit costs you less than booking them separately, and I would rather stage it properly than rush the last bedroom at eight at night.
