Faucet installation in Pickering tends to fall at one of two ends. In Bay Ridges, West Shore and Amberlea the houses date from the 1960s and 1970s, and the fixtures are often still the ones the builder fitted, chrome gone dull and washers long past saving.
In the new Seaton streets it is the opposite: everything works, but the owner wants better than builder standard. I replace faucets, shower heads, toilets, drains, supply lines and shut-off valves in both.
The 1960s and 1970s houses in West Shore and Bay Ridges usually still have the original two-handle tub valve, a steel tub and a chrome escutcheon that has been painted over at least once. I can renew the visible trim, the spout and the head; anything inside the wall belongs to a licensed plumber and I say so before quoting. Those basements also hold heavy concrete laundry tubs with wall-mounted taps that snap rather than turn. New Seaton homes are the clean opposite, modern stops and easy access.
